Volunteer of Excellence Volunteer of Excellence Award recognizes a volunteer who has contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls in any pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Additional Criteria: The candidate is an active, registered Girl Scout member. The candidate has contributed outstanding service in support of the council’s mission delivery goals in one or more of the following areas: Membership Development/Community Cultivation, Volunteer Relations and Support, Program, Leadership and Governance, Fund Development, and Council Support Service to girl and adult members. The service performed is above and beyond the expectations for the position held. The candidate actively recognizes, understands, and practices the values of inclusive behaviors. Friend of Girl Scouting Service Unit The Friend of Girl Scouting Service Unit Award recognizes groups, community members, or individuals who have supported Girl Scouting in the community by offering meeting space, troop sponsorship, storage facilities, or another token of support. Additional criteria: The recipient does not need to be a registered Girl Scout. The service performed by the candidate is above and beyond the expectations for the business or organization. Horizon Service Unit Adult Recognitions
Years of Service Pin All the years an individual has been registered as an adult with GSUSA. Issued in increments of five years. Membership Numeral Guard Membership years include all years you have been registered with Girl Scouts, both as a Girl Scout and years as an adult volunteer. Issued in increments of five years. Nomination for years of service pins and membership numeral guards process: Provide the following for each registered adult: volunteer’s first and last name, volunteer’s troop number, number of years as a Girl Scout, and number of years as an adult volunteer. Rookie of the Year (First Year Leader) The leader has led a troop all year, completed all trainings and clearances on time, and attended over 50% of the Service unit Monthly Meetings. Outstanding Leaders for Every Level of Girl Scouts The Outstanding leader Award recognizes troop leaders whose performance working with girls is so outstanding that it merits recognition by the service unit. First Responder Person who is always ready to go when the call is put out for help. Shadow Volunteer The volunteer who no one sees. Your Choice Have an idea for an award that you would like to see?
