A Little About OurselvesWelcome to the Horizon Service Unit (HSU) Girl Scouts website. We are glad you found us! Our Service Unit includes girls who live within the Methacton School District or attend Visitation BVM School in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. We hope to be a source of information and communication to help you with local Girl Scout activities.
On this website you will find information about events in and around our Service Unit, a way to contact the members of the leadership teams, information on how to register as a Girl Scout, and other important information that will help you to stay in touch, get in touch, or find out additional information about activities, resources, or questions you might have related to Girl Scouts. What is a Service Unit?Service units are volunteer-led groups of adult and teen Girl Scouts who offer a strong support network and additional activities designed to meet the specific needs and interests of the community. Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania currently has 106 service units throughout its 9-county service area surrounding Philadelphia serving about 40,000 girls.
For adult volunteers and parents supporting their daughter's Girl Scout experience, attending monthly service unit meetings is the best way to connect with the organization at the local level. Each service unit is led by a volunteer Service Unit Manager and has a team of highly experienced volunteers who plan and implement outdoor adventures, special events, the fall product program, and the cookie program. |
